Astronauts Alan B Shepard, Jr and John W Young walk down the ramp from the elevator that goes to the white room atop the Gemini launch Vehicle at Pad 19. The two were in the white room examining the Gemini-3 spacecraft the day before the scheduled flight. Shepard is chief of the Manned Spacecraft Center Astronaut Office and Young is the pilot for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's GT-3 mission.
