Gemini 10 Command Pilot John W. Young, left, facing camera, and Pilot Michael Collins, right, eat last meal prior to the start of their three-day rendezvous and docking mission. They are discussing final launch preparations with two other astronauts - Donald K. Slayton, left, Director of Flight Crew Operations at the Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, Texas, and Gemini 7 Pilot James Lovell. The spacecraft containing Astronauts Young and Collins lifted off from Cape Kennedy at 5:20pm EST, July 18, 1966, 100 minutes after an Atlas carried the Agena target vehicle into orbit. A rendezvous with the Gemini 8 Agena, orbiting since last March, and two separate extravehicular activity exercises also are scheduled during this National Aeronautics and Space Administration mission.
