Two days prior to launch, John Young (operating the handcontroller) and Charlie Duke (pointing at the TV monitor) practice a Rover traverse. The image on the monitor comes from the Landing and Approach (L&A) facility which consists of a plaster-of-paris site model suspended above a TV which moved in response to commands from either the LM simulator or this LRV simulator.
